Day Hiking to Namobuddha:
Namoboudha situated at the hilltop of Panauti is a very important Buddhist Pilgrimage located in Kavre District about 38 km. east of Kathmandu. The stupa and shrines build up in this lovely little hill have significantly enough marked a very ancient holy site where a legendary prince named Mahasattva offered himself to starving Tigress with its several underfed cubs. This legendary episode is depicted in a very nice stone slab and placed right next to a holy stupa. After breakfast at the hotel, we drive 35 km east of Kathmandu for about one and a half hours to a place called Dhapasi via an ancient Newar town Panuti with a packed lunch box. From Dhapasi we follow the uphill trail forward northeast direction and the trail narrows. We cross a suspension bridge and pass through many small villages to a huge rice field which gives you the chance to see How Nepali People plant and harvest the crop. From here we hike steep uphill for about an hour to reach Namoboudha. After lunch continues to walk in easy trails to Dhulikhel. Drive back to Kathmandu or overnight at a resort in Dhulikhel.
Day hiking to Phulchowki (2782 m.):
Phulchoki (2782m) is the highest hill situated in the south of Kathmandu valley. This is one of the most beautiful hiking in terms of vegetation in Kathmandu valley. After breakfast at the Hotel, drive 14 km south of Kathmandu for about 30 minutes to a place called Godavari ( Royal Botanical Garden ) with a packed lunch box. From the Godavari, we start our hiking gradually uphill all the way through sub – Tropical thick forest for about four hours. The magnificent view from the eastern part of the Annapurna range to Gaurishanker in the east can be seen from here on a clear day apart from the Breathtaking view of Kathmandu valley. After lunch and strolling around for some time, we hike down following the same trail to the Godavari for about 2 hours, and drive back to Kathmandu.
Day hiking to Champadevi (2285 m.):
Champadevi, situated at an altitude of 2285 m southwest of Kathmandu, is a pilgrimage site having a Buddhist stupa and a Hindu shrine that commands many pilgrims to visit this place on full moon day. After breakfast at Hotel, we drive 16 km south of Kathmandu for about an hour to a place called Pharping (on the way to Dakshinkali Temple) with a packed lunch box. From Pharping we start our hiking gradually up for about half an hour along the trail toward the north ridge and through pine forested area. From here we continue hiking gradually up following the trail for about another 3 hours to Champadevi. The view of the central and western Himalayan Range are magnificent. After lunch and strolling around for some time, continue to hike down to Hattiban for about 2 hours and Drive back to Kathmandu.
Day hiking to Nagarjuna (2128 mitres.)
Located north-west of Kathmandu it takes 15 minutes by car than 2 and half hours up to the Nagarjuna hill, which is also called historical Jamacho Peak (6,300 feet/2128 meters). It provides the best view of the northern Himalayan range and Kathmandu valley. A Jamacho monastery lies on top of the hill is sacred for Buddhist pilgrimage. There are several specific dates to gather more peoples for the special function of Jamacho Monastery. The mountain is called Nagarjuna hill because Nagarjuna’s cave-residence is found there, where he performed meditation. Besides Nagarjuna cave, there are some other caves of Buddha, Mahasiddhas.
Day hiking to Shivapuri (2563 m.):
Shivapuri situated at an altitude of 2563m north of Kathmandu is the second highest hill around Kathmandu valley. Baghdad, Shivapuri locates near the source of the holy river Bagmati. After breakfast at the hotel, we drive for about 20 minutes to Budhanikantha Temple, 8 km north of Kathmandu. From Budhanilkantha we walk through the Shivapuri conservation area. This is the Government protected forest where over 500 species are found. We start our hike from the southern boundary of the area where the army check post is located. Nagi Gumpa situated at an altitude of 2330 m north of Kathmandu and above Budhanilkantha Temple is the only Monastery for the Nuns to practice Buddhism and foreigners often come there for meditation. It is a steep uphill hike through a narrow and dusty trail for about half an hour and two hours gradual uphill trail to Shivapuri. After lunch and strolling around for some time, we take a short cut down hill trail to Kopan for about two hours and drive back to Kathmandu.
Nagarkot to Dhulikhel Hiking:
Nagarkot lies 40 km far from the main center of Kathmandu in the eastern direction. Early in the morning drive from Kathmandu to view the tower of Nagarkot. After seeing a view of the Himalayas from Nagarkot we will provide it to Dhulikhel. Dhulikhel Hiking Dhulikhel is a tourist Paradise: The spectacular snow-fed mountains seen from Dhuklikhel must be one of the finest panoramic views in the world. When a blue haze covers the lower portion of the mountains, they seem to be floating in the air. The panorama offers a majestic undisturbed view of the Himalayan ranges stretching from Mount Annapurna in the far west to Mount Karolung in the far east. More than twenty Himalayan peaks can be seen in their full glory from the different vantage points in Dhulikhel. In short, it is the foremost point for mountain-oriented sightseeing since time immemorial.
Kakani to Bhanjyang Hiking:
This is an interesting hike through oak, rhododendron, and pine forest. Early in the morning, you drive from Kathmandu to Kakani (2073m), 32 km north of Kathmandu about one hour. From here the trail leads to the east along a graveled derivable road. The entire trail is almost entirely on a level path.
You hike about three hours to Bhanjyang, which does include a 20-minute steep ascent before reaching the final location. After detouring around the area here, you retrace the same path back to Kakani in about two and half hours and then drive back to Kathmandu.
Kakani to Bhanjyang Hiking:
This is one of the best day hiking around Kathmandu valley. The hiking starts at the Hindus Temple at Matatirtha or close to the Military camp. The clean environment makes you different and you feel relaxed in your mind. Also, you can view the panoramic view of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal range from Chhap Bhanjyang at 2275m through the small village and forest. You will walk 3 hours steep up a stone staircase to the Chhap Bhanjyang. Here you will get tea and coffees in a local tea shop. This tea shop only open in season time. After one hour of walking through the forest, you will be in Chandragiri Hill at 2552 m.
From Chandragiri Hill, you can observe spectacular mountains view west to east including Mt. Api, Saipal to Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Dorje Lakpa, and Gaurishankar mountains range. After lunch over there use the cable car up to the Cable car station and back to the hotel by car. Or go to the top by cable car and hiking back.
